New Developments in the STRESS Dept.
StepSpawn sent her dad an email thanking him for sending her stuff, oh but here's a list of things you forgot, could you bring that when you come? Hi, materialistic! Funny, it's all stuff her "evil stepmother" bought her, since she's "Cinderella" and all. She seems to think that when her mother comes to visit she'll throw the fit of all fits and get to go to California. Frankly, I hope that is the case. The grandparents that soooo wanted her a few weeks ago, now say they'll keep her if we don't take her back. Wonder what brought that change of heart about? Could it be that they finally see our side and she's not the little misunderstood angel she makes herself out to me? Hmmm...I told Jim I didn't want her to come back here to live, the house is much calmer, quieter, I'm not all stressed out constantly, and if she does come back, shit will change.I'm not going out of my way to make her like me, she doesn't no matter what I do (although she pretends to when she wants something from me) and I told him that.
My stipulations will be as follows:
My computer is off limits, it's mine, period.
My cell phone is off limits, it's also mine, period.
I will make sure she has basic necessities, such as, hygiene products, toothpaste, etc, and food. Other than that, nothing.
If she wants something, she may purchase it with her own money.
I will not ask her to do anything, laundry or dishes, babysitting, etc.
I will not drive her to her friends, she may ride the bus.
I will not discipline her in any way, her father may do that.
She can eat when we eat, if she's not here for meals, she better be eating someplace else.
She will be getting lunch tickets instead of money.
She can eat cafeteria food just like the rest of the kids in this house. It hasn't killed anyone yet.
If she ever gets her driving permit, she will not drive in my car, or with me.
I think that's fair.
I'm not going to change my life so she won't get mad and run away.
I personally don't care if she does, except for the fact that Jim gets stressed when she's gone. If she does it enough times, it will be old hat and we'll have to figure someplace else for her to live, the sooner the better IMO.
