Grizzly Man

Have you seen this yet? Just watched this documentary of Timothy Treadwell, the guy who lived amongst the Grizzlies for 13 summers, then was killed by one.
Wow.
I'm surprised he lived as long as he did, with all the antagonizing and scolding and baby-talking he did to these animals. I almost couldn't finish watching it because the guy is seriously annoying! All the people that talked about and knew him were complete freaks as well, I think. I'm a democrat, liberal, all that good stuff, but I am not a tree-hugging-non-shaving-granola-eating hippie. I have no problem with them, but I'm also not going to feel sorry for anyone who gets killed simply because they are utterly stupid and underestimate the instincts of an animal in the wild. Period.
I totally understand loving animals, wanting to protect animals, but this guy thought he was part of the grizzlies family, and sadly, one killed and ate him anyway.
He brought along a woman, his girlfriend supposedly, *eyeroll* (if you have seen this, you'll know why I *roll eyes*) who was afraid of bears.
Coincidence that he lasted 12 summers by himself, but when he brings the smell of fear, they are both killed? I think not. Or maybe she was "taking Carrie to the prom."
There is some good footage of bears and foxes, if you can stand listening to this fool talk about and to the bears as if he is a four year old.

Did I tell you, or did I tell you?
Did they catch the gruesome death on film? Now that would be worth a watch ;)
I saw part of that snooze fest.... I thought that was odd too, getting killed like that..
I just wanted to let you know I like your blog, I have it bookmarked. One of the things I like, besides the way you write, is that you post so often. I hope you keep it up!

Taking Carrie to the prom...
LOL!
I haven't seen it, but yes, weird that he brings her along and they end up dead.
Stupid, in a sad sort of way.
I love animals too...However I respect the hell out of them and usually stay away from anything half my size!
I watched a doc on the Discovery channel about him and it said that he had bipolar disorder but never medicated himself. I want to watch it but then again, I know I'd cry....or else I'd scream he was an idiot. I guess he at least died doing what he loved.
Were you looking for a spork>?
John: I don't know, did you tell me? I'm certain if you did I wouldn't have bothered to watch it...
LF: I'm off to do that right now, stay tuned...
Fukkit: Actually, they got the audio, he never had the chance to take the lens cap off, but they didn't play it, damn it.
Mrs. Byrd: Welcome, I would visit yours but you didn't leave a link! ;^)
Kissmequikly: I got that off the "L Word"...great show!
Nihilly: Same here, I don't fuck with nature, period.
Used Hack: I knew he was gonna die, I was more sad that they shot the bear that ate him...
SRG: I wish I had a time machine so I could get the 100 minutes of my life back that it took me to watch it!! Spork...hee hee...
