Burnt Out...

I haven't posted lately, or even hardly read anyone else's blogs because I'm fucking exhausted.

I'm starting to think I'm getting too old for this "lifestyle" I lead. Too many late nights and early mornings turn me into a zombie on my days off. The last day I worked was Tuesday, and now it's late Thursday afternoon and I'm starting to feel like myself again...but wait! I get to do it all over again starting Saturday!!

Argh.

Work hasn't been too exciting lately, busy, but no drama, which is normally a good thing, although when you have a blog to write, not so much.

I went out to lunch with my Hub today at a little bar and grill 2 blocks from his office, and one of the cooks from my bar also works there, so I chatted her up a bit. She mentioned that they were looking for someone part-time there, and that the hours were more suitable for me. Then she said the owner thought I was a nice girl and is interested in me, (as a bartender, I presume) So the cook gave her my phone number. So I guess I could always find a gig elsewhere, huh?

I told the Hub how I was feeling, and he said, "You do this every spring, you say how much you hate your job and want to quit, then you say you'll wait till summer's over, then by the time the kids are back in school you are fine."

Nice to have him around to remind me of this yearly funk. I guess I'll hang in there, we'll see what happens.

Hopefully I'll have something exciting this weekend, I'm training yet another victim bartender...

Isn't it funny how someone close to us can recognize the funk but we can't see it in ourselves?

I'm glad he pulled you out of it...but a new job can sometimes be a breath of fresh air...

Good luck with the new victim...

My spring thing is the hospital.
I get an itching every spring to go visit them with some new mysterious illness that keeps them on their toes and me under their care for at least a week.
They miss me, and I them. It is like a yearly visit to your Aunt Bessy. Except they wait on you hand and foot and even bathe you.
I haven't been this year...I bet they miss me!

I know the feeling. I think it was about six years of me saying "I'm too old for this shit" before I finally split.
